It can be used to make payments on online channels and in physical stores without the need for extra typing or passwords. In addition, it manages to take the potential customer to the company’s website, having specific information about products or services, which guide them in their purchase.

In this case, a QR Code can act as a shortcut for a PIX key. That way, instead of data, such as phone number, email, CPF (Brazilian Security Number) or the random combination of numbers, it is enough to display the QR code on the screen of the mobile, in the cashier of a store or in Messages on WhatsApp.

When the QR Code is scanned by the camera, it allows the money transfer to the account of its issuer. This function is very useful, especially for retailers and service providers, since they will be able receive payments for their products and services without the need to pay intermediaries such as machine and credit card operators.

For the consumer, the main advantage is not having to carry several credit and debit cards around. Just have your phone at hand to make payments. However, this type of operation requires access to the internet, since it is a transaction carried out through a bank application in which the PIX key is registered.

There are two types of QR Codes related to PIX keys: static and dynamic QR Codes. The static type can be used continuously, always presenting the same data. It allows the receiver to set the amount of the transaction or to leave this option open, so that the consumer can enter the amount to be paid. In this way, it can function as a label of a product, with a fixed value, or as a representation of the bank details of the recipient.

The dynamic version of the QR Code works only for one transaction. Even if the amounts, receiver and payer are the same, a second payment requires a new code. This option is good for online purchases, which need to be purchased exclusively, with specific values and recipients.
